WCI Clare Open Day – Connect, Discover, and Empower

Women’s Collective Ireland – Clare (WCI-Clare), formerly known as Clare Women’s Network, invites women across County Clare to their Open Day on Thursday, 18th September 2025, from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at their offices in Clon Road Business Park, Ennis (V95 R8YT).

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet the dynamic new WCI-Clare team, explore upcoming training and events, and discover how you can get involved in empowering women across the county.

Women’s Collective Ireland is a national women’s community development organisation, core funded by the Department of Children, Disability and Equality, working to advance disadvantaged women’s equality through women’s community development. WCI represents and works directly with women experiencing disadvantage through our 17 Grassroots Women’s Community Development Projects in Clare, Donegal, Dublin, Kerry, Leitrim, Limerick, Mayo, Monaghan, Roscommon, Waterford, Westmeath, and Wexford – including WCI Ronanstown.

Since joining forces earlier this year the new WCI-Clare team have launched a vibrant programme of workshops and events for women in Clare. Join Co-ordinator Cecilia Brizuela, Development Worker Martina Hynan and Project Worker Tanya Palamar to learn more about their plans for future events, workshops, and training opportunities.

Between February and August this year, the team hosted a range of popular workshops such as Women’s Wellness, Tango, Wildflower Seed Cake Making, Mindfulness in Nature & Self Care Yoga and Flower Wreath Making. In March, WCI-Clare collaborated with Clare Traveller CDP to host a wonderful International Women’s Day Event. More recently, they organised the highly sought after seaweed foraging walk as part of National Heritage Week.

Now the WCI-Clare team are preparing to launch a series of new initiatives. Co-ordinator, Cecilia Brizuela, is looking forward to launching the new practical training programme, Rock the System.

Women Changing the Story. As Cecilia says,  this will be an opportunity for women living in Co. Clare to gain the tools, mindset, and community to lead with conviction. Rock the System: Women Changing the Story is to empower, elevate, and equip women to lead with purpose, confidence, and impact. This is a call to action for women who are ready to challenge the status quo, rewrite outdated narratives, and take their place at decision-making tables across our community.

WCI-Clare is also planning more workshops and training such as a supportive, informative workshop will be held in three locations across County Clare, with the support of Clare Local Development Company (CLDC).

WCI Clare Development Worker, Martina Hynan, said,  and that’s just the beginning — the WCI-Clare team is actively developing more events, training, and creative spaces designed to support, uplift, and inspire women across the county.

Drop in for a chat with Cecilia, Martina and Tanya at the WCI-Clare Open Day, Clon Road Business Park, Ennis, V95 R8YT, on Thursday 18th September 2025, between 11am and 7pm.
