A male youth was arrested at Shannon Airport this morning following an alleged incident on board an arriving flight.
Ryanair flight FR-4476 from Manchester was on approach to Shannon when the crew asked air traffic controllers to contact the ‘police’ and have them meet the aircraft when they landed.
The crew confirmed they had a passenger at the rear of the aircraft who was alleged to have been drunk and shouting.
The flight landed at 7.20am and was met at the terminal by Airport Police officers and members of An Garda Síochána. The passenger was removed from the aircraft and arrested. He was conveyed to Shannon Garda station.
A Garda spokesperson confirmed: “Gardaí attended the scene of a public order incident that occurred at Shannon Airport this morning, Monday 28th September 2026 at approximately 7:30am.
A male youth was arrested and conveyed to a Garda Station in Co. Clare. Investigations are ongoing.”
