Sean Moroney, Generation & Trading, ESB, and Clare FM recently visited Scoil Na Maighdine Mhuire, Newmarket on Fergus ahead the ESB’s Science Blast at the University of Limerick.
The idea behind the visit was to discover; How does listening to different music genres affect heart rate? Sixth class students discussed their learnings and what they enjoyed most about ESB’s Science Blast programme in the classroom.
This week the class presented their investigation to a STEM expert at ESB Science Blast Limerick in University of Limerick.
By providing guidance and inspiration, ESB hopes to empower these young minds to explore scientific concepts and develop their own unique question for ESB Science Blast.
Delivered by the RDS, ESB Science Blast is a free educational programme which actively encourages child-led investigation and scientific discovery. This non-competitive initiative aims to address inequities in STEM education by ensuring equal access for all students, with a 50/50 gender participation and a core focus on DEIS schools and Gaelscoileanna participation.
ESB Science Blast took place this week in University of Limerick from 20 – 22 May.
