Emergency services are dealing with a collision on the M18 this evening.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 4.30pm in the northbound lanes between junctions 9 and 10 at Lemenagh Beg.
Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Shannon and Ennis stations responded to the incident along with Gardaí and National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí. An advanced paramedic rapid response unit also attended the scene.
The drivers of both cars were assessed at the scene but neither is reported to have been seriously injured.
It’s understood that one car was struck from behind by another. One car came a stop in the soft margin inside the hard shoulder while the other remained partially in the shoulder.
Fire crews managed to keep lane 2 of motorway open at one of the busiest times of the week on the M18.
Traffic Infrastructure Ireland (TII) motorway crews also attended the scene.
