Flight from Austria to US diverts to Shannon Airport

A US-bound passenger flight declared an emergency over the North Atlantic and diverted to Shannon Airport this evening.

Austrian Airlines flight OS-35 was travelling from Vienna in Austria to New York’s JFK International Airport at the time.

The flight had already overflown Ireland south of Shannon Airport at around 6.25pm but about 90 minutes, the crew made a U-turn.
