Confirming the news, Minister for Trade, Business & Employment, EU Digital Single Market & Data Protection Pat Breen said: “I am pleased that O’Gonnelloe National School can now extend the school building further to accommodate a new classroom and WC facilities for staff and volunteers. Built in 1995, the school site can easily accommodate the necessary extension, while still allowing plenty of outdoor space for the children to play and outdoor activities.”

“The new classroom will facilitate a new mainstream teacher in this growing school, while the new WC facilities are also necessary as up to now there was just one such facility for use by the mixed gender staff numbering up to ten.

“O’Gonnelloe National School was originally a three classroom school, reflecting the requirements of the community 23 years ago. Since then a resources/learning support room was added in 2010 and a fourth classroom added the following year,” added the Clare Minister of State.

“I understand the school community would welcome an office for the school principal and further storage for records, and I look forward to working with them in the future to secure these further developments. In the interim I would like to congratulate the Board of Management, staff, parents and indeed students on this most recent development,” he said.
