Beaches in Clare were busy on Christmas Day and it had nothing to do with the temperatures.
Brave souls travelled all over the Banner County to dip their toes in the water for what is an annual tradition for many that being the Christmas Day swim.

Martin Connolly was in Lahinch for The Clare Herald where young and old were taking a dip in aid of Sláinte an Chláir, the cancer support drop in centre in Kilnamona. Arthur Ellis headed East, more specifically to Killaloe where the activity levels were just as high.
Several beaches across Clare hosted Christmas Day swims. An ongoing bathing prohibition in Kilkee meant the swim had to be cancelled.
