Clare Older People’s Council, with support from Clare Age Friendly Programme and Clare County Council, are hosting the annual Health and Wellbeing Age Expo in Ennis on Thursday, October 1.
The event is part of the inaugural Clare Age Friendly Week which celebrates National Positive Ageing Week. It will take place at Treacy’s West County Hotel from 10am to 2pm on October 1 and will bring together more than 60 organisations, services and support agencies dedicated to enhancing the lives of older people across County Clare.
A wide range of exhibitors will be present, including representatives from the HSE Mid-West Community Healthcare Team, Integrated Care Programme for Older Persons, Mental Health Ireland, Task Community Care, Clarecare, ALONE, Clare Libraries, Clare Local Community Safety Partnership, and TFI Local Link Limerick Clare.
The Expo will offer visitors an opportunity to discover local services and supports that promote healthy ageing, independence and overall wellbeing. Information will be available on topics such as healthcare services, physical activity, future planning, community supports, fraud awareness and prevention, and social engagement opportunities.
Attendees will have the chance to meet service providers, speak with professionals, and learn about practical ways to improve their health and quality of life.
A programme of free talks will take place throughout the day, covering subjects including road safety, nutrition, physical health, Meals on Wheels services, pensions, savings and investments. Complimentary health checks will also be available on-site.
Admission to both the Expo and all presentations is free of charge.
