Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for most of the country including Clare.
Forecasters say we can expect heavy thundery rain and blustery conditions in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Potential impacts include:
• Localised flooding
• Poor visibility
• Difficult travelling conditions
Met Éireann added: “In addition, the combination of spring tides, surge and strong onshore winds may result in wave overtopping along southern and southeastern coastlines.”
The warning will take effect at 4.00am on Sunday and remain in place until 11.00am.

Largely dry early tonight with a mix of cloud, clear spells and isolated showers. Cloud will build from the southwest with rain following for the latter half of the night, reaching all but northeastern areas by morning. The rain will be heavy or thundery in places, especially in southern areas, with localised flooding possible. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 or 15 degrees in mostly moderate to fresh southerly winds, strengthening in southern areas towards morning.

A wet start tomorrow with outbreaks of rain, heavy or thundery in places. A clearance to sunny spells and isolated showers will develop in the southwest in the early morning, extending to the northeast by mid-afternoon. Moderate to fresh and gusty southerly winds, stronger at times near southern and eastern coasts, will veer westerly as the rain clears, and will ease in the evening. Highest temperatures of 14 to 18 degrees.
