Tuesday, 8.25pm – ‘Every cloud…’ as they say. Aircraft manufacturer Airbus took advantage of the strong winds Storm Jocelyn whipped to do some flight testing at Shannon Airport today. This A321-253NY(NEO) arrived from Toulouse this afternoon.
Tuesday, 7.14pm – Gardaí are appealing to road users to be extra vigilant when travelling over the next few days. In light of the recent storms and three recent road fatalities, Gardaí are asking all road users to be mindful of debris which may be on the road and to drive with extra caution.
Tuesday, 5.35pm – Shannon Airport has again begun to accept diverting flights from Cork where winds have been gusting up to 87km/h.
KLM flight 1085 from Amsterdam and Ryanair flight FR-901 from London Stansted have both diverted to Shannon today.
Ryanair flight FR-7726 from Lanzarote to Cork has also diverted to Shannon.
KLM-1089 from Amsterdam to Cork also diverted to Shannon tonight.
Further diversions have not been ruled out.
Tuesday, 8.50am – The Status Yellow wind warning for Clare issued yesterday, will now come into effect at 10.00am, earlier than the original midday start time.
The alert will take effect in counties Clare, Galway, Mayo and Kerry while Galway is facing a higher level Orange warning from 6.00pm.

There will be widespread rain during the morning and afternoon, followed by scattered showers in the evening. Highest temperatures of 12 to 14 degrees.
Tuesday Night
Strong winds continuing for a time Tuesday night with the very strong and gusty southwest to west wind easing overnight. Clear spells and scattered showers at first, becoming isolated as the night goes on. Lowest temperatures of 5 or 6 degrees.
Wednesday
Mainly dry with sunny spells on Wednesday. Moderate westerly winds steadily easing during the day and becoming light southerly later. Highest temperatures 9 or 10 degrees.
Earlier: Met Éireann has issued another wind warning for Co Clare less than a day after Storm Isha passed through Ireland.
A Status Yellow Wind Warning for Clare, Kerry, Galway, Mayo will come into effect at midday on Tuesday.
Met Éireann has said we can expect very strong and gusty southwest to west winds.
The potential impacts of the high winds are large coastal waves with wave overtopping; difficult travelling conditions; debris and loose objects displaced.
The warning will be valid from midday on Tuesday until 2.00am on Wednesday.
