For the first time in the history of the All-Stars Clare received nominations in all four codes in 2016.

However none of the nominees managed to collect a coveted All-Star.

Laurie Ryan and Louise Henchy were shortlisted for the Ladies Football Awards but didn’t make the final fifteen. The duo were central figures in the County’s march to the All-Ireland Intermediate Final.

Their teammate Niamh O’Dea was in the running for the Intermediate Player’s Player of the Year but Kildare’s Aisling Holton was announced as the recipient of this award.

O’Dea was also in contention for the Camogie All-Stars last weekend but didn’t join the trio of Catherine O’Loughlin, Chloe Morey and Maire McGrath as Clare’s only Camogie All-Stars.

Gary Brennan picked up the County’s first Gaelic Football All-Star nomination in nineteen years but didn’t make the selected team. Cian Dillon, Tony Kelly and Colm Galvin also missed out on making the hurling team.
