The Killaloe unit of the Irish Coast Guard responded to back-to-back calls overnight.
At around 11.55pm, An Garda Síochána requested assistance from the Irish Coast Guard after a teenager was reported missing in the Broadford are of East Clare.
Watch officers at the Coast Guard’s marine rescue coordination centre on Valentia Island in Kerry tasked volunteers from the Killaloe unit of the service.
Search teams responded to the area by road with 4x4s, an all-terrain vehicle (ATM) as well as a drone with thermal imaging capabilities.
A short time after searches commenced the missing teenager was located safe and well by a Coast Guard personnel. The crew remain with the person until Gardaí arrived with a parent.
The search was stood down shortly after midnight.

Soon afterwards however, at around later at 12:25am, the unit was tasked for a second time after reports that a dog had fallen down the river bank to the waters edge and was unable to get back up the steep incline.
A boat crew launched from Pier Head and made their way south of the old Killaloe bridge where a shore team were already on scene and had the area lit up for the boat crew.
A boat crew member was able to recover the dog into the rescue boat and bring the dog ashore to be reunited with its owner.
