Anthony Foley tributes are endless and heartfelt

The tributes for the late Anthony ‘Axel’ Foley have been endless and heartfelt and continue to pour in from his native Killaloe in Co. Clare, from Limerick, from across Munster – his beloved Munster – and Ireland.

They’ve come from right across the globe; from the Six Nations of England, Scotland, Wales, France, Italy, from other European nations, from South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.

The biggest names in world rugby and other global sports joining with neighbours back in Killaloe with the same chorus of support for and sympathy to the Foley and Hogan families on their loss.

That’s the esteem in which this great man from that picturesque small town, Killaloe, on the banks of the River Shannon in Co. Clare is held.

No words of ours could adequately capture what Anthony Foley stood for but we know that fundamental to his very being was Killaloe, Shannon RFC, Munster and Ireland. But most of all it was his wife Olive, sons Tony and Daniel, his dad Brendan, mother Sheila, sisters Rosie and Orla.
