The Government has  approved a package of supports to make it easier and more affordable for homeowners to undertake home energy upgrades, for warmer, healthier and more comfortable homes, with lower energy bills.

The allocation of almost €450,000 to TUS (Technological University of the Shannon) as a member of RUN-EU (European Regional University Network)*, one of seven European University Alliances, will help plot a course to implement a shared, integrated, and long-term joint strategy for the new technological university and its partner universities.

Transport Minister Eamon Ryan has announced the re-opening of the very successful electric vehicle taxi scheme, with €15 million allocated by the Department of Transport in 2022.  The grants will enable owners of small public service vehicles (SPSV), such as taxis and hackneys, to buy electric vehicles (EVs).

A special new scholarship has been announced by NUI Galway for entrepreneurial undergraduate students.

The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin TD, and the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage, Darragh O’ Brien TD, have announced a funding allocation of €175,161 for the implementation of Creative Ireland initiatives in Clare.

Local Fianna Fáil Senator, Timmy Dooley has welcomed funding of €5.3m for Clare County Council as part of the Active Travel Investment Programme 2022.

Minister for Education Norma Foley TD has has announced funding of €1.6 million for the approval of 19 projects across Clare under the Department’s 2022 Summer Works Scheme. 

Inland Fisheries Ireland, the state agency with responsibility for the protection and conservation of freshwater fish and habitats and the promotion of recreational angling, is encouraging angling clubs in Clare to apply for funding under its 2022 Sponsorship Programme.
