The ‘Community Comeback’ programme seeks to build on community support at its most local level in Rural Communities. The aim is reaching out to People in Rural Ireland, reaching out to the most vulnerable and isolated members of our communities. The idea of ‘Community Comeback’ is based on showcasing available services in a rural setting outside of urban settings, in a local venue which is easily accessible and arranged by a Community Alert Group.
Gerard Costello, Community Alert Development Officer in the Western Region said: ‘Community Comeback’ is also aimed at revitalising local Community Alert groups, to ensure their continued viability and relevance, while supporting the most vulnerable people in their communities. A mixture of topics is covered at ‘Community Comeback’ including, crime prevention, community safety, care, along with physical and mental health promotions. There will be refreshments, networking, an element of fun, and all Free on the day. A lot of interesting topics worth seeing in Kilmihil Community Centre, Friday 30th May from 11am to 1pm – Eircode V15KC79.
This event is part of the partnerships efforts to help groups reactivate, neighbours & friends to mingle, while establishing info that can help us live a safer, happier & healthier life”.
