Two members of the Clare Senior Hurling panel have received late call-ups to the Irish Shinty Hurling team.
Tipperary brothers Noel and John McGrath along with Mayo’s Cathal Freeman have had to withdraw from the panel ahead of Saturday’s clash in Inverness against Scotland.
Joint Captain of the Clare Senior Hurlers in 2016, Cian Dillon will line out in the Shinty International as will David Reidy of the Éire Óg club. It is the first time the duo will compete in the hurling/shinty international.
Clarecastle’s Patrick Kelly who plays inter-county hurling with Kerry is also a member of the Irish squad which also includes All-Ireland medallist Michael Breen of Tipperary. The Irish squad is managed by Antrim’s Gregory O’Kane and Jeffrey Lynskey of Galway.
