The crew of the Shannon based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, has airlifted an elderly woman to hospital from a luxury ocean liner over 150 kilometres off the Irish coast.
The Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter took part in a major exercise yesterday that involved a simulated plane crash on one of the Aran Islands.
A young woman was airlifted to hospital in the early hours of this morning after she was found with serious injuries at the base of a 7 metre (23 feet) cliff in Co Clare.
