Former ASL CEO joins Atlantic Aviation Group board

Atlantic Aviation Group (AAG) has confirmed that former ASL Aviation Holdings CEO Hugh Flynn has joined its Board of Directors.

Hugh Flynn brings a wealth of experience to AAG, currently serving as a Director of ASL Aviation Holdings where he holds several Board and committee roles. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors at Formidion Aviation Capital.

During his tenure as Group Chief Executive of ASL from 2005 to July 2020, Mr Flynn spearheaded several significant transactions, including key airline acquisitions. Under his leadership, ASL achieved an annual turnover of $1 billion dollars and expanded its global fleet to over 160 aircraft.

A dual citizen of Ireland and South Africa, Mr Flynn is a vastly experienced pilot and flying instructor. He joined Safair in 1984 and over the past three decades held different CEO roles in the US, South Africa, and UK, solidifying his reputation as a senior aviation business leader.

Atlantic Aviation Group is one of Europe’s leading independent aviation organisations, providing a comprehensive range of services, including Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), Aircraft Modifications (Part 21J), Continuous Airworthiness Management, and Aviation Training. Its customers include DHL, Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Maersk Air Cargo, easyJet, Jet2, TUI Group, and major aircraft lessors like AerCap, SMBC, BBAM, and Avolon.

Since its acquisition by Patrick Jordan in April 2015, AAG has experienced strong, consistent growth, now employing over 700 staff across its Shannon headquarters and UK operations. The group trains approximately 100 trainees annually at its Shannon facility.
