Update: Bathing advisory Notice lifted at Lahinch

Clare County Council has been forced to issue a no-swimming notice for several beaches in Clare after restrictions were only lifted on Tuesday.

Girl airlifted to hospital after getting into difficulty swimming

A young girl has been airlifted to hospital after she got into difficulty while swimming in the sea off Co Clare this afternoon.

Update: Council bathing restrictions and advisories

Clare County Council, on the advice of the HSE, has placed a temporary prohibition on swimming in Kilkee and Quilty (front beach) due to increased bacterial levels in the bathing water.

Minister of State at the Department of Transport, Hildegarde Naughton TD has launched the newly updated Safety on the Water website - www.safetyonthewater.gov.ie.
