Second edition of Burren Dinners book launch in Dingle

The new book Burren Dinners, 2nd Edition, was launched in Dingle at the weekend.

The book was written by Chef Trevis Gleason in conjunction with the Burren Ecotourism Network and showcases the wealth of talent in the Burren from farmers, growers, producers, bakers, butchers and chefs and is a reminder of how highly regarded the region has become in the eyes of the foodie world.

“The Burren is now a leading food tourism destination due firstly the density of businesses that have concentrated on delivering fresh local produce and secondly to the large number of accomplished chefs and producers that operate in the area” commented Jarlath O’Dwyer, CEO of the Burren Ecotourism Network.

“The book, Burren Dinners, 2nd Edition, brands the area nationally and internationally as a region where the tourism businesses have collaborated over many years, developing a strong network, where referrals and co-operative marketing play a key role in their success”

Award-winning author Trevis L. Gleason said, “Influenced by their rugged surroundings, local ingredients and generations-old passion for communal dining, the leading voices in the Burren food scene share recipes for their most treasured meals.”

Birgitta Curtin, chair of the Burren Food Trail, said  “We wish to sincerely thank both Trevis Gleason, author of new book Burren Dinners, 2nd Edition, and Fallon Moore of Blas na hEireann for helping us with the launch here in Dingle!! Indeed, the very idea to write a book about the producers and food providers of the Burren was spawned here in Dingle in 2018, so it’s a fitting place for such an event!  Thanks to the members of the Burren Ecotourism Network for participating and to the O’Brien Press for publishing”
