Connolly National School student Holly Dunphy will be flying the flag for County Clare during Friday night’s Late Late Toy Show on RTE.
The 8-year-old took part in an audition process attracting more than 10,000 submissions from children across Ireland before being invited to perform on one of one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated television shows.
Speaking to The Clare Herald, Holly explained how excited she is about her upcoming appearance on the much loved show and how she has enjoyed her numerous other stage performances to date.
“I have always loved performing whether it’s singing, dancing or acting.
“The first role I got was as Molly in Ennis Musical Society’s production of Annie. After that, I was getting various other parts including in a television advertisement, which was very exciting.
“This October, I sent in an audition tape for the Late Late Toy Show. I was thrilled when my Mommy received a call to say I was being called for audition, which I didn’t expect because so many people had sent in tapes. We went to Athlone for the audition and two weeks later we were called by RTE to say I would be performing on the Toy Show. I was so excited,” Holly said.
Holly, who last month was named winner of Kilmaley’s Got Talent at Magowna House, was in Dublin at the weekend for the first in a series of rehearsals of her performance alongside other selected auditionees.
Ryan Tubridy will present The Late Late Toy Show on RTE One at 9.30pm on Friday 27th November.
