Two people have been taken to hospital following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis this evening.
Emergency services responded to the incident on the R469 Ennis to Quin Road at Finanagh close to Lynch’s Cross. The incident occurred at around 7.00pm.
Gardaí and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics.
It’s understood that two vehicles, with a total of five occupants, were involved in the collision. They were all assessed at the scene by paramedics.
Two people, understood to have been travelling in the same vehicle, were transported to hospital for further treatment. Their injuries are not believed to be serious.
The R469 was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident and until the vehicles had been recovered from the scene.
