Update: An 11-year-old girl reported missing from her home in Shannon earlier today has been located safe and well.
GardaĆ and Clare Civil Defence volunteers had been searching a large area of Shannon Town since this morning.
Personnel from Limerick Civil Defence have also joined the search this afternoon. The Search and Rescue Dog Association (SARDA) had also been placed on standby to respond and assist with the search.
A large group of locals had been involved in the search for the missing girl.
The search has been stood down.

12.30pm – A major search is underway in Co Clare for a child reporting missing earlier today.
Eleven year-old Amelia is understood to have gone missing from her home in Shannon in the early hours of this morning.
Her family are extremely concerned for her welfare while GardaĆ say they are treating the incident as high risk.
Amelia is described as being 5-foot tall with straight blonde hair and looking older for her age. Itās believed she may visit shops in the area.
GardaĆ and locals have been searching housing estates and lands near Ameliaās home while Clare Civil Defence volunteers also joined the search this morning.
