Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow for most of Munster including Clare.
Forecasters say we can expected very strong and gusty southeasterly winds for most of today.
There is also a Status Yellow Rain Warning in place for neighbouring counties so Clare can expect some rain also.
Potential impacts include:
• Difficult travelling conditions
• Some fallen trees and branches
• Debris, loose objects displaced
• Wave overtopping due to a combination of Spring tides, surge and very strong onshore winds
The warning will take effect at 1.00pm on Tuesday and remain in effect until 9.00pm on Tuesday.

Today
Windy today, Tuesday, with strong and gusty southeasterly winds reaching gale force near coasts. While many places will start out dry, especially over the northern half of the country, rain and drizzle will spread from the south this morning. A heavier and more persistent spell of rain will spread northeastwards over the country this afternoon and evening, with localised flooding possible. Highest temperatures of 17 to 20 degrees.
Tonight
Continuing wet for a time across eastern and northeastern parts, with an ongoing chance of localised flooding at first tonight. Drier and clearer conditions to the south and west will gradually extend to all parts overnight, with scattered showers following from the Atlantic. Strong and gusty southeasterly winds will ease light to moderate southerly overland as the rain clears, but winds will continue fresh to strong along coasts. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.
