One person has been transported to hospital following a road traffic collision on the outskirts of Ennis this evening.
The two-car crash occurred at around 5:45pm on the N85 Western Relief Road westbound, between the Skehanagh and Clare Abbey roundabouts.
National Ambulance Service paramedics and units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Ennis station responded to the scene along with GardaÃ.
Paramedics assessed the occupants of both vehicles. The female driver of one car was treated at the scene and later transported to University Hospital Limerick. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
The passenger in the same car and the driver of the second vehicle were also assessed by paramedics but did not require hospitalisation.
Traffic Infrastructure Ireland motorway operations personnel also attended the incident.
