Clare Arts Office, in conjunction with Cultúrlann Sweeney Gallery, Kilkee, is delighted to present ‘The Wild Cure’, an exhibition of artwork by Gene Clohessy.
Gene Clohessy, is from Limerick, but has been living in Doonbeg for many years and has her own home studio called ‘Doonbeg Creative Arts Studio’.
Gene is a self-taught artist and her skills are broad. She works in a variety of fine art and craft mediums, including acrylic, oils, watercolours, needle felting, photography, jewellery making, paper mâché and more recently mosaics. She is continually renewing her practice and the forms that she uses to express her ideas.
A TAP+ (Teacher Artist Partnership+) trained artist, Gene has completed several projects under the Arts-In-Education BLAST Residency Programme, Creative Schools and Creative Clusters.
She is also a tutor with the Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board offering a range of art and craft courses in the community. Gene is highly motivated and can confidently plan, prepare and deliver engaging and inspiring classes. She has a natural ability to tease out a student’s skills and talents within a supportive and relaxed environment.
She is completely driven by her passion to deliver an excellent standard of creativity regardless of the circumstances and challenges. Gene is also a part-time secretary in Clohanes National School in Doonbeg.
Gene will exhibit her fifth solo exhibition until August 7 in Cultúrlann Sweeney Gallery in Kilkee. Once again in this show, Gene Clohessy will present colourful, fun and exuberant art works to be enjoyed by all ages.
