At the recent Restaurant Association of Ireland awards one Clare outlet picked up two various awards while a native of the Banner County had a big role to play in the success of a leading Dublin outlet.
Newmarket-on-Fergus man Declan Maxwell is the manager of the Luna Restaurant in Dublin which opened in June 2015. Maxwell was named as best manager while Luna picked up the accolade for Ireland’s best restaurant. The Italian-American themed eatery won for best customer service also.
Gregan’s Castle Hotel in Ballyvaughan was announced as the best hotel restaurant. Head Chef, David Hurley was selected as the best chef in Munster.
Declan Maxwell told The Clare Herald of the pride he has for receiving the gong for best manager and to see Luna thriving in a busy Dublin scene. “It was amazing to receive restaurant of the year after only ten months, the team are thrilled. Dublin is alive at the moment with great new restaurants opening, so to win this was a very proud moment”.
