One person has been taken to hospital following a collision in Shannon this afternoon.
Two cars collided at about 4.25pm at the Drumgeely roundabout close to the main entrance to the Shannon Free Zone.
There were two people in each car and all were assessed at the scene by paramedics. One woman, the driver of one vehicle, was removed to hospital for treatment.
Three units of the fire brigade from Shannon along with two ambulances from Ennis and Limerick responded to the incident.
Fire crews set up traffic control measures so ensure a safe environment for emergency personnel to work in.
The injured woman was taken to University Hospital Limerick for treatment. Her injuries are not believed to be serious.
Gardaí from Shannon are investigating the incident.
