The Gallery at the Edna O’Brien Library, Scariff, will host East Clare Love, a new exhibition by artist Joe Culhane, from Monday, 10 August 2026.
Supported by Clare Arts Office, the exhibition will run until Saturday, 12 September 2026, inclusive.
East Clare Love reflects a body of work inspired by the landscapes, places and living ecology of East County Clare. The paintings presented in the exhibition have been co-created with the locations and beings that shape the artist’s connection with the area.
Joe Culhane describes himself as an eco-cosmic generalist, with creative and professional pursuits informed by a collaborative relationship with the ecology of which he is part, and the wider cosmos beyond.
He has engaged in a range of artistic endeavours throughout his life, including stretch fabric art based on sacred geometric designs. While he enjoys working across many mediums, he is currently drawn mainly to watercolours.
Joe currently divides his time between his home in Gortavrulla, East County Clare, and Forest Row in East Sussex, where he works as HEaRT Coordinator for Emerson College.
