Annual instrument appeal launched

Alice Keane, Emma Pyne, Faye Curran, Niamh McHugh and Cllr Mary Howard

Have you a fiddle under the stairs, a flute in the kitchen drawer or a bodhrán under the bed or even a keyboard on top of the wardrobe? If so we want them!!

“Over the last three years we have donated musical instruments worth many of thousands of euros to young students, these instruments have been re-strung, tuned and repaired and are now being played and loved,” said co-ordinator Cllr Mary Howard.

It’s that time of year again. If you have any pre-loved instruments we would be very grateful to take them off of your hands.

Your instrument donation will go to a local primary school with a passion for music but unfortunately they cannot currently afford to supply the them…and for learning a musical instrument.

Whether it’s an old fiddle, banjo or tin whistle, your pre-loved instrument would be cherished and could possibly be the beginning of a music career and love of music for a child.

All instruments are generously accepted. Collections are taking place on our Facebook page.

We also have an instrument appeal at lunch time on Friday February 9th in Room 306 at Rice College on from 1.20pm -2pm and at Colaiste Muire from 12.30pm till 1pm in Room 17 or equally contact any of our team Alice Keane,  Emma PyneFaye CurranNiamh McHugh  or Cllr Mary Howard at 086 8780 298
