A group of more than 30 local artists will be adding a splash of colour to the town during the annual Fleadh Nua festival weekend when Ennis Market is turned into an art gallery.

The Art for All Exhibition, which takes place tomorrow (Saturday 27th May) from 10.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m., is based on a similar and very successful scheme in St. Stephen’s Green, Dublin.

The event is being hosted by Clare County Council and will feature the work of artists from the Ennis-based Vincent Killowry Art Group.

Mayor of Ennis Ann Norton, who will launch the exhibition said, “It is wonderful to see local artists taking the initiative and adding to the cultural atmosphere of the town during the Fleadh Nua weekend.”

“The brightly lit market building is an ideal location for artists to display their original artwork of beautiful landscapes, botanical art, seaviews, still life and much more.  I would encourage members of the public to come and browse the works and support the artists,” added Mayor Norton.

Admission will be free on the day while the event will be complemented by traditional Irish music performances.
