Kilkeedy Community Group to launch new website

A community group will mark a significant milestone in their commitment to preserving our local heritage and connecting with their national history.

Kilkeedy Community Group, now a proud member of the National ICAN community, will launch and new website on Thursday April 4th in Tubber Hall.

A group spokesperson said: “This event promises to be a memorable opportunity to witness the unveiling of our digital platform, which will serve as a comprehensive archive of our community’s past and present.

We would also like to take this opportunity to pay homage to local luminary Frank Brew, whose groundbreaking book in 1998 debunked the misconception that “nothing ever happened here” in Kilkeedy Parish. His invaluable contribution to documenting our history continues to inspire us today.

During the launch event, we will be hosting a social media competition to promote our website, and we would be delighted if you could spread the word within your society and encourage participation. We will also give our community a chance to bring along images and documents that they may wish to add to this local archive.”

From Oral History projects to tributes honouring our local heroes, our website will feature a wealth of content that we believe will resonate deeply with the people of Clare. It would be great to have your presence at this event as it would mean a great deal to us as we embark on this journey to celebrate and preserve Kilkeedy’s rich heritage.
