Uisce Éireann crews are repairing a major burst water main supplying the Ennis Water Treatment Plant, resulting in supply interruptions for customers in Ennis town and surrounding areas
Repair crews were mobilised immediately after the burst occurred earlier this morning and have been working around the clock to carry out repairs on the complex burst, which are expected to continue until 9pm tonight.
Uisce Éireann’s Darragh Conneely said crews are working tirelessly to restore normal service and minimise disruption, assuring customers that every effort is being made to return a full and reliable water supply as quickly as possible.
“We understand the inconvenience of an unplanned outage, and we thank customers for their support while our works continue,” said Darragh.
Typically, it takes three to four hours following repairs for normal supply to restore to all customers affected by an unplanned outage. However, it may take longer for normal supply to be restored to customers at the end of the network or on higher ground as the system recharges.
