This league final was played in Bodyke on Sunday evening in glorious sunshine.

Scarriff Ogonnelloe had a good start with great work from Roisin O’Brien, Cathy Madden and Lynda Daly resulting in 1-5 without reply; 1-1 from Marian O’Brien and points from Mairead Scanlon (0-3) and Aoife Power(0-1).

Feakle/Killanena rallied but hardworking Scarriff Ogonnelloe backs Leanne Horan, Amy Barrett and Susan Daly held them to just 3 points before half-time, while up front Aoife Power goaled and Mairead Scanlon split the posts, leaving the half-time score at Scarriff Ogonnelloe 2-6 Feakle/Killanena 0-3.

Feakle/Killanena opened the scoring with a point from a free, but great teamwork and clever passing from Scarriff Ogonnelloe led to a goal from Rachael Maloney and points from Marian O’Brien (0-2), and Aoife Power (0-1). Feakle/Killanena finished the scoring with two more points leaving the final score at 3-9 to 0-6.

The Cup was presented to captain Roisin O’Brien by chairman Joe Robbins, and Scarriff Ogonnelloe now look forward to the senior championship in August.
