Healthcare agencies across the Mid-West have come together to develop a new five-year strategy for Palliative Care in Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary.

The Annual Milford Care Centre’s Harvest Fair has, like so many other public events, fallen victim yet again to the restrictions of the prolonged pandemic.

The Board of Milford Care Centre, which provides specialist palliative care and older persons services in the Mid-West, announces the appointment of Mary O’Brien, M.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons), R.G.N., R.M, as its new chief executive.

A total of four Clare-based charities have become the latest beneficiaries of Aldi’s Community Grants programme, with each charity receiving a €500 grant from the Aldi store teams in County Clare.

Milford Hospice’s Annual Light up a Memory event, one of the most important  fundraisers for the Hospice, will mark its 22nd anniversary virtually by hosting this yearly event at 6pm on 6th December, which will be streamed live on Facebook and the website.

Milford Care Centre is asking the public throughout county Clare to consider donating goods for the many stalls that will be in situ at the forthcoming Milford Hospice Harvest Fair, which takes place in the University of Limerick (UL) Sports Arena on Sunday, 1st September from 11am to 5pm.

Milford Care Centre’s Annual Harvest Fair is being held on a most appropriate day this year, Sunday, September 1, the first day of autumn and the middle of the harvesting season. The Fair, which is being held in the University of Limerick Campus in Limerick, opens at 11am.

Father’s Day 2019 will take on a new significance for many families throughout the Mid-West with the day coinciding with Milford Care Centre’s annual Memorial Walk.
