Christ the King Church in Caherdavin, located right on the Clare–Limerick border, is preparing for a week of special events to mark its 40th Anniversary.
Parishioners are warmly inviting not only the Caherdavin community but also friends and neighbours from surrounding Clare villages to join in this joyful celebration of faith, history, and music.
The programme begins on Saturday, September 27th at 6:30pm with a special 40th Anniversary Celebration Mass at Christ the King Church. On Tuesday, September 30th at 6:30 PM, parishioners will gather for “Renewal by Remembering”, a documentary that traces the story and development of Caherdavin Church over the years.
The celebrations then culminate on Thursday, October 2nd at 7:30 PM with an uplifting evening of music as acclaimed Gospel and Country singer James Kilbane presents his concert Songs of Hope.
James Kilbane has built his career sharing music rooted in faith, hope, and community. Over the years, he has worked closely with parishes and church groups across Ireland and abroad, bringing people together through concerts, pilgrimages, and mission events. Known for his warm voice and heartfelt delivery, James’ performances are not only concerts but occasions of prayer and inspiration.
In Caherdavin, he will bring a moving selection of Gospel, Country, and Contemporary Christian music that reflects both the parish journey of 40 years and the hope that lies ahead.
The Songs of Hope Concert in Christ the King Church, is offered freely to all as part of the parish’s thanksgiving. A collection will be taken to help with the event and to support the ongoing work of the church. Booking is helpful but not essential — everyone who would like to attend from across the region is welcome.
Parishioners, neighbours, and visitors from further afield are warmly invited to take part in this special week. Together, Caherdavin Parish looks back with gratitude and forward with hope as Christ the King Church celebrates 40 years at the heart of its community.
