St. Flannan’s Cathedral Killaloe celebrates 800th anniversary 

The 800th anniversary of the founding St. Flannan’s Cathedral, a historic gem in the heart of Killaloe, will be celebrated with a Choral & Musical Concert this weekend.

This special event will take place on Sunday, November 9th, at 7:30 PM and promises to be a memorable evening of music and community spirit.

The concert will be hosted by the Killaloe Male Voice Choir and will feature special special guest artists Diane Daly, Boris Hunka & The Hukas, and The Gúnas. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the rich history and the vibrant community that has flourished around the Cathedral for eight centuries.

The Very Rev’d Dr Richard Marsh said: ‘We are grateful to the Killaloe Male Voice Choir and other guest artists for their generosity in coming to St Flannan’s in our 800th year to support our fundraising effort. It is going to be a wonderful night of music in our magnificent acoustic.’

All proceeds from the evening will go towards the Cathedral Restoration Fund, ensuring that this historic building continues to serve as a cornerstone of the local community for generations to come.
