Manchester Bombing – Book of condolence opened

Clare County Council has opened a Book of Condolence at Áras Contae an Chláir in Ennis in solidarity with the people of Manchester, UK, and in memory of the victims of last night’s terror attack at the Manchester Arena.

Cllr. Bill Chambers, Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council, said, “By opening this Book of Condolence, Clare County Council is giving the people of Clare the opportunity to express their solidarity with the people of Manchester and the United Kingdom following this senseless and callous attack.”

“On behalf of Clare County Council and the people of Clare, I wish to extend my deepest sympathies and condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured. Our thoughts and prayers are with them and the people of Manchester at this difficult time,” he added.

Members of the public are invited to sign the Books at Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, County Clare during office hours (9.00 a.m.-5.00 p.m., Monday-Friday).  Once closed, the Book of Condolence will be delivered to the Office of the Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Rt. Hon. Andy Burnham.
