Derek Walsh, a Partner at MHP Sellors, has been appointed to the prestigious Law Society of Ireland Litigation Committee.
In his role, Derek will leverage his extensive experience overseeing the delivery of defence litigation services at MHP Sellors to offer invaluable guidance to solicitors nationwide.
The appointment comes on the heels of some significant achievements for the firm as it marks the first anniversary of its successful merger. Under the leadership of partner Ronan Hynes, the firm secured both the Munster and overall National Civil Litigation Law Firm of the Year titles at the Dye & Durham Irish Law awards which recognise outstanding achievements in the legal profession in Ireland.
The merger, uniting two of the longest law firms in counties Clare and Limerick – Michael Houlihan & Partners (MHP) and Sellors LLP – has positioned MHP Sellors as the largest law firm in Co. Clare and the most expansive dual-county legal team in the Mid-West region.
Speaking about the appointment, Stephen Keogh, Managing Partner at MHP Sellors, said, “We are honoured by the firm’s representation and are excited about Derek’s opportunity to actively contribute to fostering constructive advancements within the legal landscape. We are also very proud of winning two significant Irish Law awards. It is heartening to see the impact of our work being recognised whether that’s through appointments, awards or the media. We remain committed to providing exceptional legal services in Clare and Limerick as we continue to grow.”
