Met Éireann has issued a Status Yellow Rain Warning for several counties including Clare.
The alert was originally issue for Cork and Kerry but has since been expanded to cover Clare, Limerick Waterford, Galway and Clare.
The weather service is warning of ‘heavy and persistent rain’ overnight Saturday and through Sunday.
The possible Impacts include localised flooding and difficult travelling conditions.
The warning will come into effect at midnight on Saturday and remain in place until midnight on Sunday.
Meanwhile, a Small Craft Warning has been issued for all coasts of Ireland.
Met Éireann has said that south or southeast winds will reach force 6 or higher at times.
The warning came into effect at 10.00pm on Thursday and will remain in place until midnight on Sunday.
