Both Scariff Community College and St Annes Killaloe will receive Merit Awards for their All Ireland success in 2016.

Seamus O’Sullivan

St Josephs Doora/Barefield clubman, Seamus O’Sullivan will be awarded with the lifetime achievement award. A former Chairperson and PRO of the camogie board, the Limerick native has been described as a visionary for the sport in Clare. He has been a regular face on the sideline supporting the Parish at first watching his children in action and now his grandchildren along with his wife of fifty years, Margaret O’Sullivan.

Inagh/Kilnamona’s Margaret Lafferty was manager of the club’s first team to ever win the PK Travel Clare Senior Camogie Championship in 2016, her input was significant to the success but her role with camogie does not end or begin there. Margaret was hugely instrumental in the formation of the club in 2012. Upon its establishment, she held the position of Chairperson for the first three years and has had the onerous task of club secretary since then.

She consistently gives unselfishly of her time to ensure that both the administrative and coaching needs of the club are met. Whether it’s fundraising activities, washing club kits, first aid, securing sponsorship deals or providing transport for younger players, Lafferty is to the fore and is a worthy recipient of Clare camogie’s volunteer of the year.
