A motorist escaped serious injury when his vehicle crashed and overturned on the M18 motorway near Dromoland this afternoon.
The 4×4 vehicle is thought to have lost control before crashing into the central reservation in the north bound land just before junction 11. The single-vehicle accident happened at around.12.30pm.

Three units of the fire brigade from Shannon along with an ambulance and rapid advanced paramedic unit from Ennis responded to the incident.
Gardaí from Ennis and Shannon also attended the incident and closed the north bound lanes of the motorway were closed for a time while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The driver was treated at the scene by paramedics but was not seriously injured.
